Looking back at 2025
As 2025 comes to a close, take a look back with us at the achievements Macmillan Education Caribbean has made over the past year.
Catalogues
Take a look at our new catalogues for 2026.
Competitions
We have been running two great competitions this year. Firstly, our Language Tree: New Branches Poetry Competition, held through the summer and autumn, encouraged students across the Caribbean to submit original poems across a variety of topics. We, along with competition judge Julia Sander, are impressed by the creativity shown by all the entries. Many of these poems have been published in a special edition poetry book, which can be viewed digitally here. Physical copies will be presented to the winners in the new year.
Additionally, our Young Environmental Sciences (YES) Competition was back for another year this autumn and winter. This time, the competition was focused on SDG 15: Life on Land, encouraging students to come up with ways to care for and protect the environment we share and live in. In November, we were privileged to have science educator and competition judge Dr. Claire Durant on the television show Mornin’ Barbados to discuss and promote the competition. Entries are being accepted into January, and the results will be revealed later in 2026.
Digital resources
As part of our commitment to provide high quality resources for our teachers, we have continued to produce free supplemental resources for our titles. This now includes Language Tree 3rd Edition, with resources such as lesson plans, assessments and support available through Macmillan Education Everywhere, our digital learning platform.
In-person workshops
Once again, we held a number of in-person workshops to prepare teachers for excellence using our titles. The workshops we have facilitated this year included My BZ Math and My BZ Language Tree training in Belize, as well as Max Comping workshops in Antigua and Barbuda, & St. Kitts and Nevis.
Local Authorship
Our local Author Academy programme continues to grow strong, with a new workshop held in St. Lucia in February.
Webinars
Our webinars on Success for CSEC: Social Studies were well attended, with over 150 teachers joining. Recordings of these webinars are available on YouTube.
Sponsorships
We are also proud to continue to support various educational events in the Caribbean, including science fairs, quizzes, poetry recitals and more.
From all of us a Macmillan Education Caribbean, we would like to wish you happy holidays and a happy new year!
