Health and Family Life Education

This course is designed to equip secondary students for success in the real world with life skills. Reflecting the CARICOM Regional Curriculum Framework, Secondary HFLE also takes into account national syllabuses, such as those from Jamaica, Belize and Trinidad.

Health and Family Life Education meets the challenges facing Caribbean societies today, and covers sensitive and relevant topics such as HIV and AIDS, violence, health and the environment. The course can be used within dedicated HFLE subject lessons or more flexibly when HFLE is integrated within other subjects, form groups, guidance and counselling lessons or after-school clubs.
